This class will focus on needle sculpting and painting a fabric face. The fabric we will use for the head is “Dollskin” by James Thompson. It is a knit fabric with a one way stretch that allows for great control and depth in sculpting. We will turn the head into a stick puppet and embellish until our hearts are content.

Techniques:

• Needle sculpting  (It’s not as tough as it looks!! YOU CAN DO IT!)
• How to insert glass button eyes and make eyelids (really fun look)
• A simple face painting technique using acrylic paint, textile medium, pens, & pencils
• Fun Embellishment techniques

Don’t miss this fantastic doll makers conference!   This will be a great getaway to meet, create, relax, enjoy, and make dolls in the company of talented friends.  Imagine 3 days of creative energy that includes a reception, WORKSHOPS, banquet, demos, vendors, entertainment, and exciting door prizes.   There will be a fun mix of teachers and workshops for you to choose from;  Arley Berryhill, Deanna Hogan, Susan Barmore, and Cyndi Mahlstadt.  I will be teaching a brand new workshop doll Libby that I created just for this conference.  Also, there will be a wonderful guest speaker, Mary Huey.

Exciting news….I’m in the process of making changes to my website & blog AGAIN!  I know, some of you may be thinking, oh no not again!  But it’s true.

A little confession…I can be a little impulsive at times when I get excited about a new idea; and sometimes I don’t think things ALL the way through before I start.  Those of you who know me well are saying to yourselves “imagine that” wink, wink.  The facts are that sometimes my endeavors, inspite of my lack of planning, turn out perfectly wonderful; other times they may need a bit more planning and sometimes need a complete “do-over”.  I suppose you could say that I am in the “do-over” mode right now.   I feel that I am a bit scattered in my web presence, and I need to condense and focus. The whole point of a website or a blog is to stay connected, and I want to do a better job at that.  So at this point I am pruning, sprucing, and revamping.

To those of you who follow my blog, visit my website, and shop my online store I want you to know that I am so grateful for your support and patience through all the shuffling around.  So hang in there with me…I think the new changes will be good!
